Rhodesia was an British colony founded in southern Africa in 1890. It had only two small tribes living on the outer rims of it when the British colonized it. Rhodesia served the British crown in two world wars and the Malayan Emergency, while being a premier training base for British pilots during the Second World War. As with every colony, whether it be the United States or India, a time comes when the colony can sustain itself and wants independence. In 1965, Rhodesia declared it's independence from Great Britain. Although democratic and fair, England would not accept this decision because the majority of government officials had been white. The Rhodesians were able to last an astonishing 14 years, with sanctions and most of the world against them. They have a truly amazing story that has been forgotten by many but some few have chose to carry her name on, with honor.
